Biography

DVT Entertainment is a collaboration between Vince Volz of Double V Bookings & Jim Thorpe of Thorpe Productions. Jim and Vince have joined forces to bring you even more of the quality entertainment you've come to expect at a growing list of traditional venues and specialty locations! Additionally the duo specialize in consultation and band development with the ability to eventually assist in regional & national booking.

Meet DVT:

Jim Thorpe:
Mr. Thorpe has been in the music industry for over 20+ years as a musician, club owner, promoter, artist manager, talent buyer and Festival director to try and sum up. A former Board Member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy (2009-2015). Jim made his stamp on the Philly Music scene when he was at The Grape Street Pub from 1992 to 2007 as a partner, promotions/marketing/branding and booking agent. During those years so many artists performed and broke on the national scene both local and regional.  In 2010 Jim partnered up with Vince Volz  form DVT Entertainment which is a Booking , Consulting and Artist Management Agency. It Spawned from The opening of Legendary Dobbs on South St to booking the venues Broken Goblet Brewery, Bar 2300/2300 Arena, the Grape Room. DVT is also the booking agents for the South St. Spring Festival, 2nd St Festival (Piazza in Northern Liberties) and The Liberty Music Festival (Manayunk)which was developed by DVT to provided music showcases, networking and music industry panels.
Jim has managed several artists over the years including Carfax Abbey, Noosphere, Da Rezarekt, Rowboat Casino, currently In The Presence of Wolves and Stereotytans. DVT continues to help artists with their development on the music scene from music development, promotions, booking and touring.

Vince Volz:

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Vince Volz is an independent booking agent dedicated to bringing music and entertainment acts of the highest quality to the area, our focus is on excellent customer service, high-quality entertainment, and dedication to the artists' well-being and satisfaction. Double V Bookings is the culmination of those efforts. Having Worked at and maintained a great relationship with the many venues we’ve booked events at since 1999(Dr Watson's Pub(rip), The Tin Angel, The TLA, Dave & Buster's Dockside & more), we have the ability to offer a variety of options for artists of any style or genre and we have worked with a number of higher profile acts in the past including The Dreaming(Stabbing Westward), Automatic Fire(Silvertide/Peppers Ghost), Charm City Devils, Dizzy Reed's Hookers & Blow and countless others.We are continually on the search for the best bands in all genres that perform extremely well live & work hard and act professional for each event they do. Whether you have been together for 10 years or 10 months, we aim to put you in a position to do what you do best.

DVT has been the booking agency for The Legendary Dobbs (2010-2013), Finnigans Wake(2013), Bullshooters/Whiskey Tango(2015-2016) as well as specialty showcases at various venues such as The TLA, Tin Angel, Connie's Ric Rac, The Hard Rock Cafe Philly & many more. We have worked with acts such as Breaking Benjamin, Walk The Moon, Red Sun Rising, Zach Myers (Shinedown &  Allen, Mack, Myers Moore), Everclear, Fuel, G Love, Black Thought (The Roots), Haken, Big Daddy Kane & Las Supper, Jake E. Lee & many many more. 2012 saw the inception of The Liberty Music Fest in Philadelphia which, over 4 days, showcases bands and seminars from artists & industry professionals from across the country. It has become an annual party, averaging 80-100 artists and upwards of 2000 people in attendance. In 2013, DVT were hired as booking agents for the Annual South Street Spring Festival, held the first weekend of May. The festival boasts 3 main stages and 8 smaller performance areas showcasing approx. 50+ artists.  2016 brings a reunion for DVT. The Grape Room(Grape Street Pub) in Manayunk section of Philadelphia, just minutes from center city and points north & west is where it all started for most of us in this business. With Owner Operator Scooter at the helm and DVT aboard, great things are on the horizon, join us for the voyage!!
